Attraction of tourism in Phnom Penh

Cambodia is one of the oldest cultures and civilizations in Southeast Asia. Cambodia covers a total area of 181,035 square kilometers, bordering northern Thailand, southern Vietnam and eastern Laos. Although Cambodia has a history of being colonized by a number of countries and years of civil war, Cambodia is now fully peaceful, with people and international tourists able to travel anywhere with beautiful infrastructure. 1. Royal Palace

The Royal Palace of the Kingdom of Cambodia is located along Sothearos Blvd., built in 1866 during the reign of King Norodom. In the Royal Palace are: Reach - Khemrin Temple, where the King and Queen-Mother reside - Samran Phirum Temple, where the King ascends the throne - Hor Baku or Hor Preah Khan is a place to store objects for the reign - Chan Chhaya Chea Where people practice royal dances and dances for kings, relatives and high officials. In front of Chan Chhaya, there is a day for the King to hold a hearing with the people and government officials at all levels.

2. National Museum

The National Museum is located north of the Royal Palace. The museum is a modern architecture modeled on ancient Khmer architecture, built in 1917 and inaugurated by King Sisowath in 1920. The National Museum is home to many valuable artifacts related to Khmer architecture, religion and art. Most of these artifacts are from the Angkorian period, apart from some artifacts from prehistoric times, such as the Phnom Chenla and post-Angkorian periods. The National Museum attracts many national and international visitors after the Royal Palace.

3. Wat Phnom

Wat Phnom is the heart of Phnom Penh, which gives the city its name. Wat Phnom is an important tourist attraction, it is 27 m high.

History of War Phnom

There is a story that a widow named Penh, one day he was walking along the river and saw a Koki tree floating near the river bank, he called his neighbors to help him download the Koki tree. In the Koki tree, he saw four precious Buddha statues. In 1434, King Ponhea Yat arrived and built a city named after him. In general, Wat Phnom is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the capital that can attract a lot of tourists, especially during the Khmer New Year, many national guests like to come together to play popular games there.

4. Toul Sleng Genocide Museum

This museum is the former Toul Sleng High School. In 1975, the school became a detention center for the torture of tens of thousands of Cambodians (S-21) who tortured in various ways until the accused died a brutal death. Today, the Tuol Sleng Museum is home to a wealth of artifacts, including skeletons, skulls and other torture equipment.

5. Choeung Ek Genocide Center (Choeung Ek Killing Field)

The Choeung Ek killing field during the Khmer Rouge era In addition to Tuol Sleng, there was another place where people were killed during the Pol Pot era. It is located in Choeung Ek commune, Dangkor district. There were three major burial pits: the first pit for the headless men, the second pit for the heads of men, and the third pit for children and women.
